Indian visitors fuel South African M!CE tourism

India has emerged as the one of the largest contributors to incentive travel in South Africa, according to the data released by South Africa Tourism. The NTO said that South Africa welcomed 79,774 Indian travellers last year, marking an increase of 43 per cent in visitors from India on a year-on-year basis. Notably, 46 per cent of overall travellers were motivated by business travel of which M!CE alone attracted 21 per cent. Neliswa Nkani, Hub Head, Middle East, India & South-East Asia, South African Tourism, said, “India has been fast climbing up the ladder of outbound tourism and emerged amongst the leading contributors to the travel and tourism sector from Asia. On the back of strengthening demand, we hope to continue building on the M!CE travel momentum from India in 2024.”
