Talking about the MICE tourism in Pondicherry, K Lakshminarayanan, Tourism Minister, noted, “We have observed that approximately 150 events and conferences take place here every year due to the presence of premium educational institutes like JIPMER and spacious convention centres.” The UT has attracted an increased number of medical conferences because of a surge in medical tourism.
