Blending biophilia suites with dedicated work pods, Radisson Blu Hotel & Suites GRT Chennai is crafting spaces where corporate travellers feel at home, while seamlessly balancing productivity and comfort.

Every time a corporate employee boards a flight for yet another conference, seminar or boardroom meeting, they carry the same silent wish — that their hotel stay would feel less like a layover and more like home. Addressing this need among corporate travellers, Radisson Blu Hotel & Suites GRT Chennai has introduced a range of design and service-led innovations aimed at redefining the business stay experience. By blending thoughtful design, warm service and smart detailing, the hotel seeks to transform routine business travel into a more comfortable, home-like experience.

Vikram Cotah, CEO, GRT Hotels, explained the hotel’s strong corporate focus. “Our mainstay in this hotel is corporates. So 80 per cent of our business is through corporates. We are very strategically located, very close to the airport, just 15 minutes from the national and international terminals.”

The property positions itself as an urban oasis within the city. Rather than a conventional glass-and-steel business hotel, the space incorporates greenery, natural light and ambient music. “Corporates do not want to come back to the usual thing,” Cotah said. “They want to just unwind. You will walk around and see biophilia everywhere — plants, natural elements and music.”

He added that the hotel is designed to engage all five senses. “Interestingly, the biophilia floor carries petrichor — the smell of earth when it rains. We created that smell. People walk through it and can smell something that makes them feel as if they are amid nature. When corporates come back, they feel completely rejuvenated by this feature.”

Wellness is also a key focus. The hotel features a 3,500 sq ft gym with individual pods for cardio, a strength training zone and a CrossFit section. “Hotels generally do not have this,” Cotah noted, adding that trained professionals guide guests, positioning the facility as a wellness space rather than a standard gym.

Dining continues the home-inspired narrative. “We tell stories with our food,” Cotah emphasised. The Ministry of Chutney, positioned as the city’s only Anglo-Indian restaurant, revives traditional recipes, while Curry Theory reinterprets Tamil Nadu street food. Dining venues overlook the city’s first saltwater pool and a terrace facing the airport, offering both comfort and visual relief for business travellers.

Technology and functional design further distinguish the property. Facilities include a lobby podcast room, Techverse, private pools in biophilia suites and dedicated work pods for quiet productivity. “We have taken care of even the smallest details. These are the value-adds that the corporate, or anybody who is travelling, would look for,” Cotah concluded. Through these features, GRT is positioning its hotels as spaces where corporate travellers can feel at home while remaining productive.
