Leveraging 240+ weekly flights and surreal experiences like the Merdeka 118 tower, Malaysia is looking to redefine luxury corporate incentives as it targets over 2 million Indian arrivals for Visit Malaysia 2026. This strategic push follows a massive 40 percent growth in 2025, where Indian visitors hit 1.5 million, surpassing pre-pandemic records and establishing India as a priority spender for the region.
Indian driving licenses are now fully valid in Malaysia, enabling unique “Fly-and-Ride” self-drive incentives. Beyond the Kuala Lumpur skyline, corporate groups are being funnelled into Tier II gems like Langkawi and Penang via new direct IndiGo routes from Bengaluru and Chennai. Akasa Air is also finalising its Mumbai-KL corridor, significantly lowering the barrier for short-notice corporate bookings.
August 2026 marks the debut of Merdeka 118’s “daredevil walk,” offering a high-adrenaline incentive hook that complements the state’s focus on the Borneo region (Sabah and Sarawak). By blending the current visa-free regime with active MICE products like “Fly-and-Bike” cycling tours, Malaysia is moving away from traditional sightseeing toward high-engagement, experiential business travel that leverages its unique cultural melting pot and world-class convention infrastructure.
