Targeted segments will power MICE growth: CEO, PATA

“India must identify the MICE segments it can lead globally, rather than trying to serve every business events category,” said Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO, Pacific Asia Travel Association. India’s success as a global business events destination will depend on choosing priority areas across meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions, and building a clear value proposition around them.
He said destinations often try to be “everything to everyone”, but sustainable competitiveness comes from understanding strengths and investing in them. He pointed to the association meetings market as a major opportunity, noting that nearly 15,000 conferences, from around 26,000 international associations globally, have the potential to rotate to destinations such as India, provided bidding and research capabilities improve.
