Sydney has secured a spot among the top three meeting destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the latest rankings announced by global event technology provider Cvent at IMEX Frankfurt. The Australian city also retained its position as the number one meetings destination in Australia.
Singapore, Bangkok and Sydney emerged as the top three cities in the rankings, ahead of Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing. Sydney’s strong performance was attributed to its world-class venues, accessibility, safety and meaningful delegate experiences.
The city also made a mark in the hotel category, with Hyatt Regency Sydney and Hilton Sydney featuring among the top five meeting hotels in the Asia-Pacific region, while Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park secured a place in the top 10.
“With more than $20 billion in group business sourced through Cvent’s platforms in 2025, these rankings reflect real market demand and planner sourcing trends,” said Bharet Malhotra, Executive Vice President, Cvent.
Sydney’s momentum in the business events sector continues to grow. According to Business Events Sydney (BESydney), the city secured 73 business events last financial year, attracting over 56,000 delegates and contributing approximately $236 million to the local economy.
Speaking at IMEX Frankfurt, Amanda Lampe, CEO, BESydney, said the recognition reflects the confidence global planners have in Sydney’s ability to deliver impactful business events.
“Planners chose Sydney for its world-class venues and infrastructure, its deep industry and university sectors, cutting-edge precincts and bucket-list destination,” Lampe said.
She also highlighted growing interest in Sydney’s First Nations experiences, which are increasingly being integrated into delegate programmes.
The recognition comes alongside Sydney’s number one ranking in Australia in the latest International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Rankings 2025.
