In a bid to boost M!CE sector, Bhutan has announced Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) waiver for M!CE events in the country. The implementation of this initiative aims to enhance the favourable effects of the M!CE market on Bhutan’s tourism sector as a whole, with a specific emphasis on supporting local businesses and event venues within the nation. Initially, the exemption from the SDF was limited to events and meetings organised by the government. Nevertheless, this waiver has now been expanded to include all tourism-related events organised by tour operators and hoteliers.
