Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the Indian businesses and event planners to embrace ‘Wed in India,’ specifically highlighting Uttarakhand as a prime location for winter weddings and corporate events.

In a recent address, Modi strongly encouraged corporations to prioritise Uttarakhand for their Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). He emphasised the state’s unique offering, combining professional event hosting with opportunities for rejuvenation through yoga and Ayurveda.

“Uttarakhand, with its serene landscapes and spiritual ambiance, presents an unparalleled setting for both business and personal events,” said Modi. He further extended an invitation to college and university students to plan winter excursions to the state, promoting its tourism potential across diverse demographics.

The Prime Minister reiterated the significant economic impact of India’s multi-billion-dollar wedding industry, stressing the importance of retaining this business within the country through the ‘Wed in India’ initiative. He specifically positioned Uttarakhand as an ideal destination for winter weddings, leveraging its scenic beauty and logistical advantages.

Furthermore, Modi called upon the film industry to capitalise on Uttarakhand’s picturesque landscapes. He noted the state’s recognition as the most film-friendly in India, with ongoing enhancements to film shooting facilities, making it an attractive location for productions.
