Visa has introduced digital corporate payment tools aimed at helping MICE organisers streamline vendor payments, improve spending visibility, and simplify reconciliation as large events become more complex to manage, according to latest reports. This isn’t just about simple card swiping; it’s a targeted strike against the “manual chaos” of event accounting.
Shruti Gupta, Vice President and Head – Commercial and Money Movement Solutions, India and South Asia, Visa, notes that the new Virtual Payment Accounts allow planners to kill the headache of tracking hundreds of different vendors. By generating unique virtual accounts for specific production teams or hotels, organisers finally get real-time control over their spend. This shift away from clunky bank transfers and old-school cheques means faster reconciliation for busy finance teams. The tech allows for structured data tracking, letting companies stick with their existing banks while gaining high-spec financial oversight. As the Indian MICE sector scales up, these tools are becoming a “front-end” necessity for anyone managing high-stakes budgets.
