While the recovery in corporate travel is led by bleisure business, Ramesh Daryanani, VP, Global Sales, Asia Pacific, Marriott International, feels that it is going to take some time to reach 2019 levels. He further added, “There are strong signs of it rebounding very quickly. And as air fares and airline capacity stabilise, we will see business travel rebound a whole lot quicker.” He believes that in order to ease recovery, the industry needs to go back to the basics – “of reimagining travel but also delivering the basics of seamless travel. From visa approvals, documentation of cross border travel needs to be seamless, and this should be a focus for us this year,” he said on the side-lines of ‘The Exchange India event 2022’ organised by Marriott International.
