The Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) has seen significant growth in Victoria’s business events sector, enhancing the state’s reputation as a global hub for knowledge and innovation. In the 2023-24 financial year, MCB secured 215 future events, attracting over 58,000 visitors and generating over 109,000 room nights, resulting in an economic impact of US$252 million. Corporate meetings and incentive events also contributed significantly to Victoria’s visitor economy, with 86 groups generating US$34 million and 14,000 room nights. Large-scale international conventions contributed US$371 million to the visitor economy.
