The Indian Brand Equity Foundation’s latest case study highlights the development of 50 top tourist destinations with States, the inclusion of hotels under the Infrastructure Harmonized Master List, ₹3,295.8 crore in interest-free loans for tourism projects, and 34 Swadesh Darshan 2.0 projects.
The report says the Union Budget 2025–26 positions tourism as an employment-led growth driver, with ₹2,541.06 crore earmarked for infrastructure augmentation, skill development, and travel facilitation. It also focuses on the relevance of MICE, which lies in how the current policy could expand India’s business events map beyond metros through better venues, access, hospitality capacity, and services.
