GSTC participated in the MICE Intelligence & Innovation Summit 2025, held in Thailand. The Summit focused on the role of sustainability in shaping the future of the meetings and events industry.
Randy Durband, CEO, GSTC, highlighted the importance of the GSTC MICE Criteria (for Venues, Event Organisers, and Events & Exhibitions), which aim to serve as the global sustainability standards for the industry and were created to provide a common understanding of sustainable tourism in the MICE industry throughout the world.
“Sustainability in the MICE industry is not just a goal; it is an opportunity to redefine how we connect, collaborate, and create impact. By adopting global standards, we provide a pathway that, if followed, will ensure that every event contributes to a better future for destinations and the people who call them home,” says Durband.
