Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has emphasised the immense potential of the MICE sector in India and urged a concentrated effort on developing the sector in India. He said, “The global MICE industry is currently valued at nearly US $800 billion, but India’s contribution is less than one per cent of that. Globally, this sector’s share in GDP is nearly 1.5 per cent. In India, it is just 0.2 per cent of the country’s GDP. Over the upcoming five years, our strategic plan includes the establishment of state-of-the-art international-level convention centers at ten locations across Gujarat, encompassing Kevadia, Kutch, Vadodara, Surat, and Ahmedabad. Gujarat is committed to investing every effort to emerge as a prominent leader in MICE sector.
