Recently, Ministry of Tourism (MOT) participated at 31st edition of Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) 2024 held in Melbourne, Australia. The Ministry’s participation at AIME 2024 is a testament of efforts being taken by the government to position India as a picturesque M!CE destination, with excellent connectivity, and world-class infrastructure on a global platform, particularly after the successful organization of several G20 meetings during its G20 Presidency. Giving a push to the MOT’s ambition, other stakeholders including prominent Convention Centres in India, hotel chains, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) and India Convention Promotion Bureau also exhibited their products at AIME. The participation of Indian delegates at AIME 2024, facilitated multiple networking opportunities and influenced the targeted source market in the Asia Pacific region.
AIME is an international trade event for the APAC region organized annually for the meetings and event industry, bringing together international event planners and the best destinations, and venues from around the world. This year, more than US$200 million was expected to be generated at AIME with more than 16,000 meetings between vetted buyers and exhibitors with 33 countries displaying their potential at expanded showfloors, which resulted in a successful event. AIME 2025 will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 10 – 12 February, 2025.
India at AIME 2024
Currently, MOT is focusing on M!CE segment to overcome the seasonality challenge and project India as a 365-day destination. To turn this dream into reality, ‘Incredible India’ intrigued the audience by showcasing its exclusive offerings at AIME 2024. It captivated the attendees with its avant-garde facilities for conducting international conferences offered at recently inaugurated Convention Centres namely Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi. To accelerate India’s M!CE target, a round of meetings was held with prominent M!CE operators. Moreover, IRCTC was instrumental in sending the right message to the attendees with its premier products i.e., Maharajas’ Express Luxury Train, Buddhist Circuit Tourist Train, and KSTDC’s Golden Chariot Luxury Train, which were discussed in detail in one-to-one meetings with the travel fraternity.
